I know this was posted somewhere already but I couldn't find it. Has anyone purchased the KS replica hood? If so, how well did it fit? I don't feel like spending damn near 2,000 on a hood unless it's counter part is a waste of money.

I have the Ebay special KS Style hood from VIS. the fittement is decent, the CF is really nice. The latch is weak and crooked, and the hood is slightly higher on the pass side. All in all, it's a great deal for a $400 (shipped) hood.

So the CF VIS KS hood is a good fit then? I might just buy that and paint it.

I'll tell you it's a *fit*. Whether or not it's good is really up for debate. Ultimately, I have removed the stock latching mechanism, and used hood pins behind the headlights to hold it down. The result? It's a pretty damn good fit. The gaps are 1.5 times the size on the driver's side than they are on the passenger side. The curvature of the hood between the headlights, where it meets the bumper, is a little too agressive i.e. it's higher in the middle and lower on the sides.

In my opinion again, the hood was WELL worth the money. Considering what I paid. If you're not the type to say 'eh, good enough' with your car, then this hood isn't for you. If you don't mind a *slight* imperfection, then go for it!

That's a stupid answer. Lee, *slap* you're a tard.

But along those lines, Loi Song's old hood (Sportcarmotion.com) was a Fiber Images hood. You can check out http://www.sportcarmotion.com for info. The fit was excellent, and I have heard good things from Loi about them. Conversely, I have heard that the VIS has the best clearcoat in the industry.. Maybe there's a tradeoff there.
