I took off my dome lights in my GTU and put them back in and it keeps blowing my 7.5 fuse. It is doing it when-ever i put the two screws in nearest the windshield. I disconect the battary and all that crap but as soon as i reconnect it the damn fuse blows again. Do i have to get a new dome light ficture or is there like something else i can do? PLEASE HELP!



I know i have a short somewhere in the system but what can i do?

 

Sounds like the screws are penetrating the +12V wire. You say it works when the screws are out, but as soon as you put them in it blows the fuse?

 

I fixed it. A wire was pinched and the screw was grounding it out.
