The only way to know for sure would be to do comparisons, but I am not that concerned to go through all that.
If you want to leave your parts rough and unpolished knock yourself out. If you are gonna polish the parts let me know.

just be sure that you keep an eye on the stuff that you clear, and make sure that they do not turn yellow....i have had that happen, and i think that it was because i put about 6-8 coats on the uim, but it might have been heat realted....

Im using sewn pads. I have never tried the others. Are they pretty good for final polishing?
The clear that Im using claims that it doesnt yellow.
I am not going to clear my UIM just in case though. You never know.
I did about 4-5 coats total. And I am drying it all with a heat gun.

My car is eating up all my free time. Maybe when thats done I'll get the chance.

the unsewn pads are what give it [with white rouge] that extra gloss, however, i find that yours look really good already. i have a ryobi 2 sided bench grinder, and it spins to 3600rpm, which with the circumfrence math, is just about right for the 6" pad and 1" width, as far as the velocity and **** are concerned. you roughly need 1+ HP grinder to make sure that your grinder does not bog down, and on occasion mine does, and i wonder if it affects the quality of the finish.
but anyway, the unsewn pads are what my friends dad, who owns Jackson Plating Company, gave me, and along with a 10" brick of rouge, and told me to finish with these. the rouge has lasted for some time now. it is unlike any other that i have seen, and is solf like babypowder to the touch, and not like the "sticks" of rouge that you get at home depot, that can be hard, and gritty. there is a lot of tallow and aluminum oxide in the final rouge that i use, and it works wonders....
when i figure out how to use the PHOTO function on my digital video camera, i will post some pics of the cleared and polished items....
