Why will they become illegal? That ******* sucks, they should have it so you can dim the lights. Is that why because there to bright?

its probably illegal because HID bulbs emit a certain pattern made for the housing they are in...... D2S (for projection type housings) and D2R (for reflective type housings). unfortunately most of the time, these housings are made for halogen, which has a different beam pattern as the HID. therefore, when you put the HID bulbs in them, the patter gets all messed up, and instead of having it concentrated on the road like it is supposed to be, it scatters, and light that bright can be dangerous when its scattered

so its really not the brightness, its more on where you're gunna be shining that light, cuz there are bi xenon HID where there is a HI and LOW beam with differnt intensity brightness,

or another idea......... why dont you buy the light kit that you want, and retrofit the HID yourself, according to chuck its not very difficult to do with the proper tools and the knowhow. the kits arent that expensive anymore, also you can pick the color temperature that you want

You know on my MR2 I HATED THE POP-UP LIGHTS.

On the RX7 they dont bother me at all when driving, I would really like to get something that doesnt open as big, but its not a big deal.

Sleek lights are OK, like the EAST BEAR or the PANSPEED (RE style), but I dont like the RE-Amemiya ones with the covers, for some reason it looks kind of cheese, just my OPINION though, so not like it matters....hehe

IMO you should go with pop ups only cuz you have a two color car, if you are gunna add some sleek lights, you will have too many things goin on
