im sorry dave, normally you have good taste, but that panel doesnt
go with the car at all. Your car is very high class, and that panel
just looks thrown in there.
Trim it, flush it, and paint it, maybe even paint it with a black
textured finish like the dash

I'm agree that a recessed mount would look best, if you were to bracket it to the internal stereo surround, trim it, then lay the AC surround over it that would be better. I'm not sure if you'll run into a problem with the internal stereo surround being set back from the rear face of the AC surround, maybe leaving a gap. But then again, if you were to bracket it to the stereo internal surround, you could just build your brackets to lift the gauge plate up to fulsh with the rear surface.. Or maybe trim it down to exactly the DIN size, then build the brackets out enough so that the Gauge panel sits flush with the front face of the AC surround, then paint the whole thing black.
