C's Shifter Installed - Initial Impressions
#1
It took me about 30 minutes to pull everything apart and reinstall it all. The instructions are in japanese but you can figure out what needs to be done using the supplied blow-apart picture.
The handle from tip to pivot is almost identical to the stock shifter. However, the distance from the main pivot to the transmission input half is longer than stock, thereby giving you a shorter throw. I was a little disappointed to see that the handle would actually sit TALLER than the stock shifter, but after driving it around for a few minutes I'm thankful that it is.
I've always felt that the stock shifter is very vague and has a lot of slop in it. The C's shifter definitely removes a LOT of slop. It's a little difficult to figure out exactly what gear you're in at first but you get used to it. The throws are much shorter and are very notchy - just the way I prefer. Shift efforts are definitely higher. If they had shortened the shifter to match the stock height it would have been that much harder to shift, so it's a pretty nice compromise. To get an even shorter shifter you could cut the handle but I would not recommend doing so.
In neutral, the handle sticks straight up. It looks kind of odd with respect to the center console since the console is tilted towards the driver - it looks like the shifter points AWAY from the driver in neutral!
All in all, a very good mod. A little pricey, but I got it from Jason/JT-Imports during the recent group buy and I'd say it's worth it. I can't comment on any other shifters (B&M, Gotham, etc) but this shifter has definitely given me the confidence to 'bang through the gears'. Prior to this mod I always granny shifted.

30 mins wow hehe
2 things from me. Thing #1 Sorry man I meant to put out the instructions are in english on the C`s page on our website.
Thing #2, it will loosen up after a few hours of driving and feel
smooth like the stock one.
As for the shifter sitting sideways I dont know what that
is.
