I think these are probably the nicest gauges that I have seen in a while. |
i can do a group buy!
|
I cant find which sizes they come in. I need to get a Fuel pressure and Water temp apx 2 1/2" and I would like to get a oil pressure the next size down. I would also like to get a boost gauge the same size as the oil pressure. I guess whatever the standard gauge pod size is. |
those are some nice guages, what could you do on a group buy for them phins?
|
Dunno I have to call and see if they are even available yet, certainly aren't in my books. I have pretty good autometer pricing though.
|
Ok I looked and here is what I am interested in.
2&1/16" -- Water temp, Fuel pressure, Fuel level, Boost, Oil pressure 3&3/8"---- Speedo and Tach Let me know how much that would cost for each and also if you can get a better price if I get them all at once. Thanks Scott. |
id like to see how much it would be for a water temp, oil pressure, and a voltage meter in the biggest size i can fit three across on a stereo install kit filler plate, im thinking 2 1/4 inch. since none of those are really really important i wont need the logging capabilities so if theyre outrageously expensive i wont want em.
|
Holy ****, gotta get me some of them. I was looking at Defis BF. How is the quality on Autometers like these?
|
i've looked up prices for those around a month ago, and those things are expensive as hell, more expensive than defi

yeah the bottom of the liners are like 50 bucks each. i think ill go with the parts store special with white faces for $34.99 for water, oil, and volts. take em out of the mount they come in and make something custom for them under the stereo |

one day everyone is saying how bad Autometer gauges are, meanwhile they are on every Nascar and NHRA drag car, the next everyone is drooling over them because they dance around in your dash
make up your minds!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif btw- I have always stood by Autometer, long before japenese companies starting charging $200+ for a gauge |

make up your minds!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif btw- I have always stood by Autometer, long before japenese companies starting charging $200+ for a gauge I am a guilty party. I have always though that autometer make shitty looking gauges. I changed my mind about a year or so agao when I got a look at the cobalt series gauge in person. That was a nice guage. They have completely stepped up to the plate with these new gauges imo. They might be pricey but they sure look sweet. I never doubted the accuracy on them. |
LOTS of others jump all over you when you mention Autometer, I never had them do me any wrong. People saying the boost gauge is off by 4-5psi, temp gauges off, I dont know how they come to those conclusions.
I did get a Blitz black light boost gauge for my car though, only because it matches my autometer CF faced ultra lights, the Blitz also have a CF face. http://blitz-innovation.com/product%.../RMeterBLM.jpg |
I think the reason why so many people have had "problems" with Autometer gauges is because some of their other products look very "NASCAR"-esque. What with the metal-backed faces and all. I can say that I really wasn't turned on to Autometer until these new gauges came out. (I like the cobalt as well.) Maybe the company is trying to answer everyone's problems with them in one fell swoop by releasing gauges that do all of the dancing and they also color change for every one's different tastes. Them making a product like that should really bring in the money, it's got me on board.

do a search you *******! I did a search, there was a real good thread somewhere that we threw back and forth, will look for it later. |
yea, jims5543whatever says he wont use autometer anymore cause all his gauges were way off, i THINK it was him.

Man, I wish they had a tach in that lineup...
|
they do.
kevin. |
|
I've been looking around and haven't found a tach in the Nexus line...
|
I've seen them. I don't remember the link but they do make them. I saw them. The Speedo even has a digital odometer like the stock one.
|
That sounds awesome! Please, someone find a link to one or at least someone selling one, I'm searching right now.
|
Someone! Anyone!
|
check summitracing.com, and cool your panties geebus its not like theyre gonna sell out and you dont need a new tach in your stock 8.
kevin. |

Those gauges are HANDSOME!!! My opinion is that before I spend 1300 on gauges, I'll spend 1300 on a little PC and a nice screen to integrate the datalogit to.. the PFC has almost all the gauges I need. For EGT, OIL and FUEL pressure I'll stick with my cheap autometers.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png If you DO get these... They will surely look badass! |
I remember reading a while back somewhere. Somone wanted to mod the stock gauges to do a sweep at start up similar to Porsche. These gauges do that, I wonder if that person is reading.

The Nexus line is definately nice but just so you guys know, the oil pressure gauge only reads up to 100psi which is too low for the FD. My buddy who is the Autometer Sport Compact Director told me that a 180psi is in the works (that was SEMA 04).

Very pritty, but all show & no go. I'll spend $1300 on my turbo instead....
