Audio Question
i'd get a 100X4 and call it a day, you dont need to max em out and alot of amps are somewhat under-rated and put out more then the actual RMS rateing, that's what im useing for mine at the moment and it works really well
If you have components , then you will be using a 2 channel amp 1 channel for each set of components . you would put one input into each cross-over and the crossover seperates the sound accrding to frequency, so basically it turns one channel into 3 if you have mids highs and a low, or 1 channel into 2 if you just have mids and lows, so from what I understand you couldnt use a four channel, unless you bridge it, and if your bridging a four channel to run components I hope your components can handle the power.. so I'de go with a 2 channel for each set of components MY 2 CENTS
Sorry if I'm replying too late and you have already made your decision. Just a couple of things, for clarification. A 100x4 bridged to two chan would work alright, but that's just extra work and mess for something that you can keep cleaner and typically less expensive by going with a 200x2. Secondly, most amps are NOT under-rated...only those by higher quality companies like Alpine, JL, JBL, or Phoenix Gold. If you go for anything that you buy at freaking Wal-Mart like Pyle or Pyramid you will have a grossly over-rated amp. Kenwood, MTX, and Sony are conservative with their ratings, typically plus or minus 10w.
Also as a side note, underdriving speakers, most importantly subwoofers, is a sure fire way to kill them quick...a lot of people don't know that. What nightwolf is running is totally fine for a pair of components, assuming his are also rated at 200w (as I sorta guess), but if you have a sub asking for 600w rms and hook that 100w up to it, it's kinda risky. Speakers just need juice to move. This is all extraneous info now, but it may be useful later.
Have fun with the new music!
