from what I've been told there is no noticable differance between CF and FG. So if you want to buy a CF hood and paint it.. you might as well give me the money and I'll buy you a FG hood, paint it and you wont notice a differance. This has to be one of the biggest reasons I hate ricers.. they ruin a good looking item on a car by doing it so much that real sports car owners then hate that mod.. but to each his own. At least your looking for a FG hood. And I would definatly go with who yayer said..

I dont uderstand why somebody would buy the CF hood which costs an average $200-$300 more then the FB and and paint it...it just ends up costing more in the end.
If you are gonna paint it why not just get the FB? What is the weight difference between a wet CF hood and a FB hood anyways? I can understand if it was a dry CF cause those are uber-light and have to be painted. But why even bother painting the wet CF?
Personally I will be going with a wet CF AD 9 hood for the following reasons:
1) can install it right away, no need to paint it
2) dont have to worry about paint-matching
3) overall cost of a CF hood is less then a painted FB, or painted CF hood
4) car is stock VR, and due for a paint job in 1-2 years hood CF hood will not need to be re-painted (car will be repainted Blue or Gun-metal Grey)

alot of these guys making the hoods do not lay them up properly
and are not using resins with UV shield in them, the CF hood not painted may end up looking like total *** after a couple of good summers. Now if you leave the car in a garage most of the time it wont be so bad.
Personally I think a CF hood looks like **** when its not painted
and its in the sun. And at night it looks like a unpainted replacement hood.
The true people wasting thier money arent the
ones painting a CF hood, but the ones who are paying a premium for
one layer of CF with FG under it. Now thats RICE, the one layer of CF
on the surface is doing dick except trying to OOOO and AHHH people.

dry CF is lighter, but you will add a little weight by painting it, but not much of course. Wet CF is for looks.
DRY CF is $$$$$
WET CF/Fiberglass not too much of a price difference, dont know exactly since im at work, but around 300-400 I think, yeah I know its a lot, but Dry I would think would be closer to $1500 more hehe
