My recipe for speedy cold recovery combines a lot of these suggestions.

1) Take vitamin C, and E won't hurt, either

2) Drink tons of fluids--juice and water

3) Get a LOT of rest, eight or nine hours a night, at least

4) Don't exercise strenuously. Take a couple days off. Rest. A leisurely walk is okay.

5) Eat garlic, preferably raw garlic. It is good for you and will keep other sick people away from you because you will stink!
I will comply.

Thanks!
just a warning, that garlic is NASTY

Raw garlic is awesome. It's a rush, man. Don't be scared.

And the culinary uses of garlic are well-known and widespread. Just try making shrimp scampi, or guacamole, or mussels marinara without it.

Yeah, what they said. For the juice part of the equation, get a juicer and use it... a lot!

I tried garlic once. It was a rush, but kinda gross too. I regularly do a couple carrots, an apple, and a small piece of lemon. The lemon actually helps blend the flavors together. Like 1/16 slice or so. Anything more and it's overpowering. I haven't been sick in a long time.

1988RedT2 - Nailed it.

I just lived this myself. I had to go home at luch yesterday. I started taking vitamin C and echinatia (SP?) golden seal. It knocked it out of me.

Rest is the biggest thing your obviously run down. I slept from 12 hours last night. I also napped a lot.

yeah, sleep makes a huge difference. Since I've been a parent, and sleep-deprived (~18 months), I've been ill more times than the last couple years combined.
