[quote name='spaceman Spiff' date='Jun 24 2005, 09:47 AM']hey i am all for voting for something, but when the constitution clearly states in the fifth amendment, nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. so technically for private government use they dont have to pay you but for public use which would include sales to regular people like you and me they have to provide just compensation which in their mind is fair market value.

The government passed this law to overlook the amendment. The Canadian goverment does that all the time. Pass laws to overlook other laws.

Theres no amendment, its all hush-hush.

Your right to feel the way you do. But you just making noise about it will get you no where. Believe me, I know from experience in my own battles with local government.

They have teams of what I call propagandists that will do nothing but discredit you in any public forum you use. They will search your background and try to exploit it in attempts to deter you. They will make life difficult with stupid things they find in city(town) ordinances and give you violations.

My advice to you is, start small, think domino effect. Elected officials, council men, mayor, governor, all feed off of public approval which equal votes. If you can show the smaller guys they can be voted out, they may listen. Show their phone #s (its public info) and get supporters to call them personally. Councilors may join your cause and appeal to a larger, more influential crowd.

The first domino falls.

Your gonna need stamina, these things go on for years and can wear you out.

Good luck.

Ahh, you sir just don't know me. I have met and spoken with both of our senators on multiple occasions, and both recognize me by name and face. I also know the southern 3 representatives, and have ties to the other two, though I have not met them. I also know ALL of our county and city elected officials very well, and all of them know that I am capable of screwing them in the next election year.

Owning a business in a small community does a lot for you. Having family that is very involved with politics does even more. I'm going to call both senators, after they hear from other people that I have a decent following, and let them know what is going on, and why we are against it. If I know their politics as well as I think I do, they will already be against this ruling, though I doubt they will say anything about it untill some of us (their citizens and voters) start calling in and sending letters.

Like I said, I'm going to make a major effort twards getting something done. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

wow and the government wont remove the urine miesters from public libraries and parks but can take your private property. How do you esatblish fair market value...buy placing for sale and have feedback on the value offered by the public...not a single entity by a subjective formulation of selected refrence.

If the property owner and the local government disagree on fair market value, a civil court jury will sort it out.

The problem is legal costs.

Its not even the factor of "fair market price" that gets me, its the fact that they are uprooting one individual from their home only for another individual to come in to build a business for their own benifit. No ammendment allows this.
