Wonder what kind of milage he gets, say in the quarter mile. Figure a CFM-56 burns something like 2.5 gallons per mile on average (burns like 50 per mile at take off lol).
Also I wonder how fast it really is in the quarter, can it actually use any of it's potential at that speed? Jet engine tends to need a mass of forced incoming air to work to any of its potential... ie your newer jets are turbo fan (large inlet, large fan forcing air), rather then jet (small inlet, small outlet, air forced by forward motion, loud eg, JT-8).
I'm thinking it's 2 mile times would be most impressive if it had the gas to last that long.
