Lol, i really thought this thread would be dead by the time I got home..
But I agree w/ nismo..no mcdonald's manager would make $175K a year...i used to know a lot of people who were managers of fast food and pizza joints...but that was in highschool, lol. OWNERS of say papa john's or dominoe's can make a good deal, but thats only because they usually own a few different stores and a subway or quizno's, etc...
But yea $65/hr is not questionable in the advertising, marketing or consulting realm, especially w/ government positions...my boss made $110/hr when he was just our consultant, now he makes more than that...

McDo's and helpdesk aren't that different anyways.
IT or not, most helpdesk employees I know are uneducated.
(That includes Microsoft helpdesk, Apple computer helpdesk and Vodafone helpdesk. Up to middle management none of them ever studied anything beyond highschool.)
I don't blame any of them for doing the work they do, it's just the way companies wish to outsource these services that makes technical support pretty much useless for anyone who read the manual.
As far as I've experienced these helpdesks are only about one thing. Answering the phone and keeping the caller talking for 7 minutes, then take the next call.

(have a look at the techsupport II rant to get an idea)

It has been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time since I was associated with a MIckey-D's Franchise, however a "store manager" didnt make Jack, I was referrring to the Franchise Manager, aka the managers manger; he was pulling down serious coin + bonus's based on the performance of the stores. And he was making nowhere near the coin the owner of the Franchise was.
Of course all good things must come to an end, and the McD's Corporate franchise rules caught up with the organization. Seems that the Franchise owner must log in a certain number of hours in each store per month, and he got caught during an audit. This occurred during the same time frame that his wife caught him screwing the Decorator (In charge of the renovation of his King Street Mansion). In the end, Ed had to sell 1/2 his business to his competion to satisfy the divorce decree and McD's Corporate. During the same time frame the "Automotive Division" Shop caught fire and burned. Destroyed were:
2 NSX's
2 F50's
Chevron B-19
Lolo something or other
Mni-Cooper Pickup
Mini Moke
Peterbuilt Transporter
GNS
Devin SS
MGA (His first Vintage Race Car)
Several Bikes
And May more nice cars
Then approximately 2 years later he was riding thru Canada on his way to a Bike Ralley and lost control of his harley, hit a tree and died
