Does anybody else just want to take a sledge to their car sometimes, or is it just me?

I've been working on this idle problem for weeks now. I finally get the idle down but now it bounces between 500-1100. I just can't get this sucker whipped..... After I get the new DP/presilencer put on, I guess I'm gonna have to take it to a shop.... : (

Yea, I got that way with my Jeep a couple times, in fact it has a huge dent in the grill from a crow bar after I slapped the new motor in to find out the machine shope had plugged the wrong oil galley and spun all my fresh bearings....

Did you try letting it idle with the narrow range TPS unplugged?

No. I have the TPS set correctly according to the test lights. Are you saying I should just unplug the entire TPS or just pull the narrow range sensor off the TPS mount for now?

Even when I have the single green plug at the front left of the engine bay(forgot the name) grounded I get a surging idle, which I don't understand. It's funny, the surging starts to level out, but then will start all over again with original tempo. Like the ECU is trying to adjust but can't.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I'm too frustrated to mess with it anymore today.

Ever notice how the last few steps of any long, hard task always seem to be the hardest. I shoulda posted in the 2nd gen specific, but I wasn't really asking for help at first. Just whining.

See how it runs with the narrow range TPS unplugged.
