I have heard that service pack 2 wipes illegal mp3's off your harddrive, is this true? The reason I ask is because I have just come into the possesion of a version of XP that "requires" sp2. Is what I have heard true, and even if it is how does it know whether the mp3's are not legit or not?

majority of people are having problems because the cannon configure the firewall correctly. It does not wipe out your files

Have to say I was a bit skeptical about that when I heard it. I'm gonna go ahead and use it.

XP SP2 is good stuff, don't listen to what other people are saying. It automatically sets up a firewall for your network connection and notifications if you don't have a firewall enabled or a virus protection program installed. You can easily configure these settings so that the Windows firewall isn't on and you can turn of notifications for the firewall and virus scan software.

sp2 closes down lots of ports on the firewall, i.e. the P2P ports, however the RPC ports are left open, so it does not really add any security, just changes how one attacks a windows machine. That's why I bought a mac. I don't get viruses, I don't get popups, and everything just works. I have no problems with it.

Xp doesn't seem to have solved the problem either, I tried loading the raid card drivers and I still get a page fault. I'm thinking it's the controller.
