yeah all the high zoot race cars (and oems) are ditching the fusebox/relay crap, and are going to a "power distribution" module.

advantage? if you have a short, i think it'll current limit the circuit

loose the alternator? it can shut stuff down to get you home...

hey maxt; the speedsource rx8 runs a bosch 4.1? (series rules) and runs quite well, might be worth looking into... although motecs only drawback is cost

i agree on the haltechs, seems like they need to work on durability/qc.

Yeah that and being able to log/monitor current and voltage from within the EMS..

Bosch 4.1 motronic? Must be running zero split.Thats a different setup.

You get to a point where you don't want to tinker with the EMS anymore , the EMS shouldn't end up as the hobby, and thats the problem when you have to start fiddling with stuff everytime to make it work. You become an EMS enthusiast instead of a car enthusiast.

Sometimes its fun, but stuff like the megasquirt, or tens of hours integrating things that are not supposed to be in an old ems just ends up sucking away driving and real tuning time. Our season is so short up here, I just don't want to F around anymore.

what do you think of the new Wolf? I have the V500, it seems to be very well thought out and you can integrate things into well.

Check out the software and what not on thier website, its all free. They have the dash, but not this distrubtion box.

I have that on my simple plow set up on my pickup and it made rigging the plow so simple and easy, but I also cant help but think its a all or nothing deal, meaning if one part of it goes bad the whole thing will require replacment?

wont be lookin for logging anytime soon as track seasons seems to have been passing me rather quickly lately..

ill pursue a full blown ems once im back on the course on a regular basis and easily justify it..

Power FC, well if opinion matters, I like to use the FJO with the power FC.. They will even provide you with the polynomial for the dataloggit interface.

Wolf always did things kinda weird, I never liked built in map sensors, its a 3d map, I never took to their hand controllers. The wolf 3d was like trying to push a piece of string and its idle control sucked..

I would have to have more time with the v500 before I said more about it.

the v500 is leaps and bounds different, if im not mistaken you dont HAVE to tune with 3d maps either.Like I said

DL the software, its all free, and check it out. Im sure there are youtube videos of it as well.

Hand controller is no longer the only way to tune like it was with the first version, but I do really miss the hand controller because it gave you so much info

Where's that Nelson Muntz pic when I need it...

I think they had some assembly problems. The solder joints were not very good, maybe just burnt up on the heater circuit?
