Why i hate microsoft

As a Unix admin you have NIS or DNS but not a hell of a lot else as far as true managment goes. Active Directory allows me easy managment of most any size. NIS is a pain in the ****, worse then the old Domain system from NT which is saying a lot.
I can have 2k running the moment it starts up with no another config needed what so over. Heck, I can tell it what I want it to do and walk off and never worry about it again.
Didn't knock nopistons.net, I like the site and think using PHP Nuke is a good idea makes life easier from and admin standpoint. ASP.NET is faster then PHP all the way around as it's a compiled not interpeted language. Dunno if they are going to set PHP up to be compiled. Didn't say I can do better, but I do think I can get a lot more flex out of ASP.NET then you can with PHP.
Sorry if you thought I was knocking the site, again I like it a lot
If you're box finds bad memory and spits it out I wish mine would do the same. About half the time you get nothing but GPF's (OH wait, excuse me, "Illegall Operations") and wonder what's up. At least OS/2 would give a Trap 2 error.
Linux has a MAJOR security breech that was uncovered today. Pity they won't make a huge deal about it and jump up and down and scream.
A lot of IIS security issues are a lack of attention on the admins parts and/or front page extensions...which blow major chunks. I HATE frontpage.
Linux has almost zero support and the support it does have blows hard. Never want to trust anything serious to it unless I was running IBM's version...but that's IBM for you.
Easy isn't always better, but as 2k is every bit as powerfull as Linux is and easier to get to that point I think it comes down to personal preference.
I don't knock Microsoft just because everyone else hates them, I tend to use what works. This is why I stuck to OS/2 for as long as I did...it worked even if it was a pain to deal with at points.

Games are always brutal to a computer, esepecially some of the older games. I've got an old 486 for playing some DOS games on when I don't feel like fighting with XP. Usually something with video that kills em.
