Why Do Wrcrally Cars Wound Like They Are Squeeking

isnt freon pretty flamable?
As far as I know Freon isn't flammable, it's only the more recent hydrocarbon gases that are. Hydrocarbons have a more dangerous aspect though especially R134A, which is the A/C gas used in most cars built within the last 5 years - this stuff is EXTREMELY dangerous.
If you directly inhale R134A when heated (eg. through a cigarette), you most likely will be dead within 12 hours, and if inhaled when cool, it will only give you rampant lung cancer. The reason it is more dangerous when heated is because it produces a gas called Phosgene, which was one of the nerve gases used in WW1 AFAIK.
As for the question about the whining noise it comes from the gearbox. The gears are all straight-cut gears, as opposed to synchromesh as used in road cars - the reverse gear in some road cars are straight-cut which also results in a whining - same thing as the rally cars.

and the squealing is not from the tranny
they just use beefed up sequential transmissions if youve ever heard one it doesnt sound like that
the squealing isnt the turbines either...or bov, they use recirculating valves that act like a misfire system to keep boost spooling constantly
the "squealing" is the suspension....they have severly tight and stiff suspension and it takes a hell of a beating out there....

you know a lot of cars come with parallel cut tranny gears..... lots come with parallel (straight cut) and lots come with cross (diagonal cut)....and synchromesh is a tranny fluid.....

synchromesh: the "synching" of gears, bringing them to the same speed so as to make a smooth shift.
NO ROAD car has straight (or as you for some reasonc all them, parallel) gears. They all come with helical cut gears in the transmissions due to the amount of noise created by straight cut gears. Straight cut gears in a daily driver would drive you insane....i had a video of a porsche with straight gears so you can hear the sound but my comp crashed. It is a distinct whining that is loud.
A sequential transmission does whine, and CAN be heard easily and distinctly from outside the car.
If WRC cars use straight cut gears in their transmission, youll hear it very distinctly, i dont watch WRC or else i could pick out what this noise is that theyre talking about.
If their suspension is squealing, thats a horrible thing, a stiff suspension wont cause squealing that isr ecognizable outside of a car, a loosely assembled transmission therefore providing slipping between the mounts WILL enable a squeal or whine to be made.

i know mr2 have straight cut gears.....
i know that seq. trannies make noise, and i know straight cut make noise..... i recognized that saying that thats not the noise though
its a diff sound....if you ever watched WRC or any rally racing you would hear it ... the suspension doesnt "squeal" i just refer to it as that since thats what the author called it.... it makes creaking noises
ad i only refered to them as parallel and cross cut cause they did as well...keeping the terminology the same

Yeah but when they are going on uneven pavement and banks changed left to right and back and forth on for the most part straight like it Italy they are squeaking big time and clanking. I couldnt see letting off the gas so much to hear a blow-off , I mean sure in the 180turns and 90s yes I can see that, but these arent even 20% or maybe even 15% direction changes.
