Well said Justin.

Cheers, I think it's a bit more than that. A single 10mm wrench from snap on is $60 bucks. Look at all those sockets, plus the cost of the combination box!

The Snap-on boxes and tools are a collection/investment, they are in no way a practical purchase for the weekend warrior or back yard mechanic. There are only a select few tools that are used CAREFULLY, from the Snap-on set.

The tools that get used everyday were from the 1200.00usd Craftsman set, The boxes I bought from Home Depot for around 700.00usd, nice, ball bearing drawer pulls, decent for the money.

For around 5000.00usd One can accumulate a formidable tool collection and a place to store it/them and have far more options than going the Snap-on/Blue Point route where you spend upwards of 150,000.00usd for the same tools, warranty etc.

what is a good size tool chest? i'm only looking for the chest right now. I don't have any big tools like drills or pneumatics to store so the chest will do me fine. I found one of those costco Nusteel 26 inch wide 5 drawer chest for like 89 bucks (65 USD) or so. But it doesn't look that big. I was hoping for a 46 inch wide tool chest.

Is 26 inch too small?

im also looking for one at the moment, but id suggest getting one with ball bearings, theyll end up in MUCH better shape after a week of use than compared to the other kinds.

shoot iv only been a tech for around 2 years now,,,,,,,, started with a rather large craftsmen box , a roller with side cabin and top chest all total around 52" but at a shallow 28" then my snap on dealer had a nice used 46"x36"2 bay mac 1000 for $1500 with my box in trade,,,,,,,, snappy gave me a grand for the crapsmen box. Well that mac box lasted all of about 6 mounths , ran out of room and good old snap on dealer set me up with a 76" 3 bay maco box for 6500 and gave me 1600 for the mac box so i got the new one for 4900 and almost out of room again,,,,,,,,, errrrrrrrr i must spend more on tools a week some times then i make workin on mazdas,,,,,,,,, should have been a vw tech cause there always breakin!!!!!!!!!!!!
