It depends on your lifestyle. I loved buying my house and really love the house but hate all the work involved and long for my apartment dwelling days. Like 1988REDT2 said apartment life is very carefree and usually cheaper. The cons of apartment life is your money is wasted and lack of privacy.



The benefit of owning a home is that its an investment you will not loose if you buy wisely. I paid 92K for my house in 1998 and have been hammering at the mortgage my mortgage is down to 62K and my house is worth 150K+ so you see you can make out pretty good in the long run. You have to plan on livin gin the house for 10 years or more to make money off of it. Of course there are exceptions to every rule a friend lived in his home that he had built for 3 years and sold it for a 100K profit.

The downside of owning if fixing the place up, taking care of the yard, god forbib a major repair. I needed a new roof last year $5K down the tubes kaching!! My pool needs resurfacing this year another $4K. Fenced in the yard 3 years ago $1K. Layed tile in the living area.... it goes on and on.



The thing I hate most about owning is all the maintenance the pool lawn basic repaires etc.. It takes up a lot of time. I should be out finishing cleaning the garage so bye...
