With in the next year or so i plan on moving, im going to start looking around now at different things and try and figure out what i want to do. I've already checked on rent for an apartment and for the size i want 750/month is the cheapest i can find. I figured i may be able to find a house with a payment about the same as that. What do you guys think i should try and do?

House!

If you can do it.

house!

I say go for a house. I am probably moving out of my current apartment in August but I can't get another house right now so I'll be stuck filling somebody else's pockets for a while longer. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png The sooner you get a house the sooner you start building equity.

i much rather rent an apartment rather than a house. so i can save up money to "buy" my own house later

Turbo II 11-10-2003 03:33 PM

but overall it is around the same. since the landlord hast o cover repairs and what nots anyhow.

Well, if you're renting I say go for an apartment, but buying a house is the best option, IMO.

I was a little more carefree when I lived in an apartment, and I basically came home only when I needed sleep. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Homeownership will probably keep you at home a bit more, unless you've got deep pockets and can pay someone to mow your grass and fix stuff when it breaks. Economically, it's a no-brainer--buy the house! I wish I had done it sooner. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

If you can, buy a house. At least if you ever decide to move you can get your money back, if not make money. Rather than an apartment where you throw money away, and have to put up with obnoxious neighbors that live right on top of you.

its not buy or rent. its rent an apartment or try and find a house for rent.
