If you have an NA then 87 is ok.

I have heard mixed things about ethanol...some people told me it actually deteriorates your engine...I wonder if that's true. (I know pure ethanol does...I am wondering about the 10% mixture)

thats what i thought. i've heard that lower octane gas releases its energy quicker and therefore is better for engines with notso much compression like n/a motors under a 10:1 comp ratio or somthing like that. but b/c it releases its energy quicker with higher compression it tends to detonate

ethanol tends to dry out seals over time. I'm not sure how bad it is for rotary engines nor do I really wish to find out...alltho I'm sure as this is an Iowa car it's been on it most it's life.

Ethanol is bad news on old Air Cooled VW's tho.

Freakin Iowans...if they're not putting corn in something, they're putting pork in it. Someone was talking about pork tacos the other day...and don't forget the pork expo, or whatever the hell they're having at the fairgrounds.

5 bux a gallon is a little steep for me. I love the smell of methanol burning, though.

Now that would be a fun conversion project, gas to methanol. Sure is expensive stuff tho, that and the fact that you can't see it burning
