Pits r evil, my old VW mechanic has one, it is a nasty hole, reminds me of one of those ancient dungeons where they stuck people they REALLY didn't like.

I would vote for the lift also. You can do so much with it easier than jacks and jackstands. Bring the work up to you instead of you going down to it.



I have no use for one but a TIG welder is just something cool to have around but go with the lift.

yeah the last one i was in....... ....it was like walking in this muddy oil water mixed with metal and bugs.....probably a lot like WWI in europe during trench warfare. (there might have even been a body now that i think about it)

get the lift, you'll be glad you did. they arent expensive either, $3500 installed

They end up being oiley mung filled garbage pits....
Pits are also illegal here in Ontario. Fumes get trapped in them and many people have died.

go with a lift. We have a small pivot type lift, its ok unless you have to get under the car.
