w00t does have its roots in computerland, but I'm not sure if its a hacker thing. Root is the top level of command on a linux box, for the guy who didnt know. What I heard, though, is that w00t is the noise that jumping in quake makes, something about jumping and quake, for those silly'uns that bunny hop. w00t w00t!

ok.. at one time me and my friend were talking like that to this girl i know for fun. She asked what it was, and I tried to break it down for her. I kept the log because i thought it was funny.. here ya go... n00bs!
