Personally I don't understand the huge craze for 4x4's - so you sit a little higher, but anything over 60mph is painful, mid-teen mileage, the ride is terrible at best, and the whole "extra girth = extra safety" idea is a farce. If you really need the space get an estate.
Both Land Rovers and Range Rovers are designed for offroad use (and in fairness they're the best at what they do, but if you're not going to need this ability, there are better options out there.

I've always loved Land Rover's, they are on the top of my list of rigs to get when I have money, however I've known a few people that have had them, seems they either last forever or are problematic, I dunno. I had a friend that worked at Microsoft and he was on his 3rd engine in under 70k and the guy drove like old people ****, my buddy in AZ beats the crap out of his and I don't even know if changes the oil.
I guess just be prepared to do some work on it when you buy it, parts are a little more expensive, but they aren't insane.

Those 3rd and 4th door extended cabs like shown in that picture are a real problem. As you can see, they take out the post immediately behind the driver which destroys the integrity of the cab. Since most of that was done mid-run, the cab isn't properly designed for crash impact.
Get an H1!!!
