I started driving on the road @ 14 yrs and never rode with my mother again ever since ( if you saw her drive you would know why).
The car was a 63 Plymouth Belvedere with a push button auto and a
361 v8 ... no radio, no carpet, heater, only option was oblong steering wheel. Got my legal license one week after my 15th birthday.

I'm 17 and currently learning on an 89 Supra Turbo. I stalled it at the very beginning cuz i didn't really quite understand the clutch concepts because my dad didn't explain very well why it stalled. But i have it down now fairly well and havent stalled for a day (driven the car for probably about 10 minutes total). Can't wait to take it out on the road.
Also is stalling bad for the car?

12-1989 Subaru Wagon, mostly i drove in reverse (didn't stall nearly as bad going into reverse) since we had a circle drive, then i figured out how to not stall it going forwards , both of my parent's are alcoholics so SOMEBODY had to be able to drive, and my mom always told me if you can drive a stick, you can drive anything, haven't liked/wanted to drive an auto since, all my cars except for one (my 87 200sx R.I.P.) were sticks.

I didn't get my license till I was 23 or so, didn't drive much before that either. I think the 1st thing I "learned" to drive was a 68 VW Bug. Yeah I can remember tearing up the roads between Arvin and Bakersfield in that thing, it was soooo fast.
I used to move Freightliners between stock yards when I was working as a disel mechanic.

i had a 91 escort gt 5 speed tossed at me when i was 15, never stalled but did massive rpm clutch dumps on accident and kinda big burnouts. then when 16 rolled around i had the car down. i was happy cause my on the road instructor said she hasnt seen many kids that could drive like me. after i got my liscence i drove it like i stole it. it was fairly quick and handled pretty good. then i got my fc. rear wheel drive is sooooo much more fun. and rotary is sooooo better than that crappy soda can bouncing ****. but yeah theres my first car story. p.s. ive enjoyed this forum...
