I don't see the point of getting the 2.8 unless you're leaving it stock. You can easily get 300+ out of the 1.8 with minor mods, so why bother with the larger engine that isn't turbocharged?

that's the main reason I went for the 1.8T. Also, the VR6 costs like an extra $2-3K. Besides, I love hearing the turbo with the windows open. Ed knows what I'm talking about, dontcha Ed? DONTHCA? Y eah, I thought so......

same motor different tranny as the 20th aE. 6 speed tranny, ugly rims, recaro seats. i think those rims are so ugly. i say this because it makes the side look flat. with and german car, it needs rims with a lip.

that 1.8t is a smooth engine and its very responsive. however, the older 150hp version of it sucked ***** with an auto tranny. the new one rules. ive driven a gti and a passat with it, its got a satisfying turbo whine without being a noisy ride.

how is there no low end on the 1.8T? The torque hits its peak at 1950rpm, and plateaus there until 5800rpm. That's more low end than my TII EVER had!!! Full boost by 1950rpm=teh awesome

Yeah, but your TII will always be faster than your Jetta.

no...YOUR TII will always be faster than your Jetta...wait...that's not right, you don't even own a Jetta. And I don't have a TII. What you must have meant is that your TII will always be faster than your Scirocco. Cause that makes sense. Yup, perfectly sensible....
