I heard the radio broadcast and read some of the book, so I knew what the ending was going to be so I wasn't disappointed at all.

i was pissed when i read the book, but i dont think i will be when i see the movie. i already know it will be lame

The tripods had sheilds (the whole reason they couldn't be destroyed) yet once they had a disease they couldn't use them, hence the birds were able to straight up land right on them....

 

Im actually glad they kept the original HG Wells ending, altho they could have done more to show what was happening (what specifically they could have done? i dont know, but thats why I dont make movies)... the part at the end I really didnt like was how the boy miraculously made it back to his family after supposedly being blown to **** by that explosion... that and the fact that the whole street was untouched in the middle of boston, but out in the country every little house is destroyed and searched.
