USPS Needs a Bail Out
#11
Here's a thought for all gov't bodies, rather then trying to figure out where to come up with additional funds, why not try to live within a budget based on the funds you are currently recieving. They just raised the county tax on communications (cell phone, home phone, tv, etc) from 1.5% to 5%!!! more then 3 times the previous tax, never once did it occur to them to trim the fat, only have two guys watching one guy dig a hole instead of 5 guys, hell no that is not even an option.

they pay the people way too much money, factor in the benefits and what not and its crazy.
I mean really just because they walk around in all kinds of weather does not mean they deserve the pay they get. People who work much harder and with alot more skill dont get the pay they get.

yup, as far as i am concerned run it like a business, they can raise their rates until they no longer compete and go broke or they can trim the fat and go to delivering mail that is profitable and on a schedule that is profitable. There is no reason for the USPS to visit EVERY american home 6 days a week.

seriously i get a big shopping bags worth of mail every month, and that does NOT include the obvious junk mail. of that shopping bag of crap, i take my 3 bills, and pay them...
the rest is garbage.
actually hell, i'll take NO mail delivery!

Yea same here, I think the last necessity i got in the mail was my debit card and even that is questionable I dont get any bills in the mail, everything is electronic, although we dont really have many bills.
