Yeah I figured someone would bring this up. Let me explain. Right now I have a seven that mazda wants. They are gonna give me top dollar if I buy a car from them. I really need a new car so I can build credit. Right now my mom is a cosigner. So it will build me credit for when I want the MAZDASPEED 8! They said that if I lease a pretege they can take it back in a year and I can trade up to the 8 Of course I would start over on the payments but I would get a super low interest rate. And I wont have to put down a down payment.

By the way The MS Pretege is in my driveway. It is so bad ***!

The Rx-8 is an FE I saw a couple of VINs that are coming in. The exhaust system to me looks very restrictive. MS will have to fix that!

they are stopping leasing in NY this summer, some companies

dont lease anymore. I wouldnt be surprised if the rest of the country follows in our footsteps. Apparantly there is a loop hole in the law and Citibank lost some HUGE law suit, technically with a lease the bank owns the car, so they can also be sued in a lawsuit. Leave it some douchebag lawyer to find that one.

A loan you own the car, but a bank has a lien on it. I meant to bring this up in a seperate topic, but what the hell.

Anyhow, its good you can afford the payments on your FD, im sure insurance isnt cheap for a 18 year old either. But I would say the

RX-8s payments might be about double compared to what your paying now? Figuring the FD cost you about $14,000, and the RX-8 is double that amount, plus tax.

Insurance is alot cheaper for me then you think. More exspensive for me to drive my 98 4runner(4cylinder). The FD aint that bad.

The payments for me to own the MS Protege would be around 5something for me to own. That is crazy. I pay $255 for my 7. But the true cost to own after gas!, Insurance and other stuff make the cost jump past the owning cost. The lease price is in the $300's.

And about the Rx-8, by the time the MS comes out I will be getting me 15k NAVY bonus that would be more than a decent down payment for it And it will be fully loaded. Only because it will be my first very own car! And I will have a steady Income to support the payments. Hopefully everything goes good till then

leasing has also managed to kill a lot of used car places due to people turning in the cars after leasings so the dealer then resells them instead of a used car dealer getting it.

listened to an hour long sob story from some used car dealer friend of mine (it wasnt at his lot, and it wasnt a sales pitch, the palce was in business for a looooooong *** time and has to shut down this year)

JOEFLO: Make sure and check the structuring on that Navy Bonus. Is it 15K lump sum? Back in the day my initial bonus was 30K, 15K lump and the remaining at 3K per year. And that is BEFORE taxes!. You also have to GRADUATE from NUKe school! And that means no disiplinary infractions. Remember: 60% of the people who start Nuke School DON'T GRADUATE!..

Another thing to remeber, you don't get paid until the END of BOOT camp. And you are an E-1 until you graduate from MM A school. Depending a school loading that could be 6-8 months.

Yeah I know all of that. But when I get my bonus it is lump before taxes. My reenlistment bonus of 45k would be 20 up front and then the rest going into my pay. Also I am an E-3 going in during boot camp. I don't get the stripes but I do get the cash. I get the stripes after boot camp. And I will graduate Nuke school! I think I am going to dedicate myself to the program because I know it is very hard and I have already talked to someone who just graduated. It will be a challenge but I will stick with it!

They said that if I lease a pretege

So let me get this stragiht you basically gona rent a car for a year, and then give it back, and have nothing. But they are going to say that thet will give you a lower interest rate. I just don't see the logic in that Wow, they are gona bend you over and you.

Better than taking a 6K hit on depreciation.
