To be a commercial pilot and carry passengers you need at least a Class II medical. In order to fly with the big boys, the heavy iron, 757, 767, 777 and the larger commercial jets you must have a Class I medical. It must be updated every 6 months until you turn 40 then every year. You have to have an EKG every year after age 35.



This is from my Dad who is an FAA medical examiner here in Fort Worth and one of 3 docs here that do Class I medicals. My Dad rattled this off pretty quickly to me so I may have missed some of the specifics but you get the idea.
