What bothers me is people who started off as complete uter newbies and they start a shop. Meanwhile a customer's car is in the bay and they come online and post.

"How do I rebuild the engine." While the customer is waiting for their car.

There are too many people who claim they know what they are doing and under cut all the real engine builders out there.

You've noticed that to eh?... Its funny to see people advertising for business on one forum as an expert and help on another for simplistic problems, or something they should have known before taking on someones project.

I should just ship you my engine in pieces and have you put it together. I'm struggling so bad for time these days. It makes me think twice about keeping the rx7 because soon I'll be purchasing a condo with only 1 parking spot and work gets busier and busier

whats the weight difference between that and stock (say an s5 stocker or whatever)?

fd and s5 fc is a noticeable difference, i had both flywheels off to get cut and could feel a big difference just holding them.

kevin.

off the top...

s4 t2 = 28lbs, makes the car feel like you're towing a trailer

s5 t2 = 26? 24? better, but still see #1

FD= 22ish good upgrade for an s5, its on the heavy side of ok

RB steel = 17lbs, not sure if its with the CW or not, imo, what the car should have come with stock

RB aluminum = 12lbs, i still like it, but on the street the 17 pounder is a little more friendly.

obviously it depends a little on the clutch, a 6 puck clutch and light flywheel in the hills is the hardest thing, and a stock s4 clutch is the easiest. i personally love the act 30% better PP with a stock disc, effort is right, it holds 300ish hp and its not a copper disc.

I thought the S6 flywheel was a little light than 22 lbs. Maybe 20 lbs. I recall a fedex shipping box weight at 19 lbs for one I think.

I ran a S6 flywheel in my S5T2 for 2 years. Best flywheel I've tried. I hate my current setup of 9 lbs aluminum and copper cermaic 6 puck disk. I regret the whole setup. It makes the car horrible to drive. But I spent so much money on it I can't go back.

Interesting how this thread has turned into a fairly useful discussion about flywheel/clutch options.

yes you can! i had a 6 puck disc for a little while, it sucked having to pull it out, but it was one of the best things i did

I need a disc that doesn't stink so much when i'm trying to pull gently away from a stop.

believe it or not ive had good luck with the XTD 6 puck sprung clutches and PP that are found pretty cheap on ebay.

i mainly stick to stock flywheels tho, i was planning on trying a "slightly lighter" flywheel for my s5 t2, i think next winter ill throw the 17lb RB in there that mike was talking about.

88redt2: yea, sometimes you gotta wait 3 pages to get useful info around here, lol, and then when you do, its never related to the original topic anywho lol.
