Time to buy a new computer, help me out.

What I need: Wifi, and Microsoft Office. Maybe I'll put Itunes on it. Watching DVDs wouldn't be bad, but I'm not considering that a requirement.
That's it. The cheaper the better. I don't want to spend money on a bunch of **** I don't need.
As for laptop vs. desktop, I'm okay with either. Laptop is convenient, but desktop is less likely to get dropped or have **** spilled on it. If I get a laptop, it'll need some sort of plastic cover on it.
Suggestions?

IBM Thinkpad, best computers I've ever owned. I just picked up a used X61s for 200 with windows 7. Metal shell for protection, fully seals to protect it, the keyboard has holes built in so if you spill anything on it, it will drain straight through and never touch any of the electronics.

Computer guys are like bad college professors, they can't remember what it's like to not know the stuff they know.

My brother has a desktop that he gave me, which promptly broke as soon as he turned it on in our house (we break computers just by being near them). I might have someone try to fix that one. If not, laptop it is.
