Glad you had the cop come out though. Does Iowa require proof of insurance, like most of the states here on the east coast do? Did the cop give the Durango guy a ticket?

The guy did get a ticket, but he's from Michigan, so the laws there may be different. I figure anyone driving a 2002 Durango SXT will have to have insurance, so I'm not too worried, but I do think I'm going to get jerked around a bit.

gettin hit in the rear is typically automatic fault..

insurance estimates are taken from approved shops..not the cop..

sad to hear such unfortunate news unique...

wow ed, that really blows. i hope the guy had insurance cause at least u can fix it and still sell the car or lower the price and already have cash in hand. do u have uninsured motorist coverage?

I'm going to call my insurance agent today. I know I should have right away, but I was way too busy this weekend. I'm pretty sure I have uninsured coverage...I think it's the law here. I know the NY laws better than the IA laws, though.
