I was leaving my new apartment on Friday night to go down to RD's house where my Subaru was, along with 90% of my possessions inside. I was stopped at a light, and the Durango was stopped behind me. The truck in front of me moved up about a carlength, so I did as well. The guy in the Durango took off like the light had turned green. I hear "Oh, ****!" and look up into my mirror, only to see some headlights coming way too fast. I let off the brakes to lessen the impact, but it didn't help much.



The crash broke both of my tail lights, scuffed my bumper, pushed in the back far enough so that the trunk won't open, and creased the back in several places. The best part was that the driver of the Durango didn't have his insurance info with him, so I may be getting fucked on this. I was supposed to be selling the car Friday night...



Oh, and the cop put the estimated damages on my car as $150...stupid.

 

That sucks, man. But does it matter what the cop says? Don't insurance companies always want like a body shop estimate or something?

 

That sucks ***..sorry to hear about that.

 

I don't think the cop's estimate will matter...it just pisses me off that they treated it like a scratch when the back of my car is fucked. Hell, just the tails are worth $650 new.
