IM 5'9, I was 155 lbs when I got my ZX-11, trust me if you get

a 600 you will want a bigger bike in a matter of weeks.

Naked bikes are noice.



Most any of the manufacturers is going to make a good bike. I like the Honda VFR's for the motor and single-sided swingarm. It is a bit more of an upright sport-cruiser type and the seat seems like it is made for fat America but it's one of the sweetest sounding motors I have ever heard; motorcycle, car or anything else. V4. :]



I would look for something you definitely felt comfortable on. Keep your options open and shop around. The motorcycle shops here love to gouge the locals.

Yes you should get what feels good to you and what you feel most balanced on..I fit best on the R6. tried to ride the ZX-6 but didn't fit my balance as well. now since it is you first bike take a motercycle safty course..that way you avoid the bike test at dmv. If you have that class they just give you a lic. ( in Nevada anyway). just don't over ride your skill. Now with how much you weigh don't go over a 600 cc bike. You will lay it down, you will scare the crap out of yourself.

Insurance..don't use state farm, gieco, progressive..got to this place. they started out insuring just bikes. many guys that I work with that ride use this place

I am waiting to get my TII sold but I am going with a 2004 Yamaha R6....I would love to get a R1, but money dictates for now, plus 180hp in a 400lb bike seems ******* insane. I think my friiends CBR 600RR is ******* nuts. Farm Bureau has good insurance rates I think....I was quoted $47/mo for full coverage on the R6.

i really like the r6 also because of my size and the price is reasonible. it also looks sick

You shouldn't go big at 1st. maybe 600cc or smaller. Get smoking that you don't care about & you can trash. I knew two guys that have died starting too big, no sh!t! A good thing to ALWAYS remember when riding, is it is a form a transportation. Be safe, start small & never stop learning
