thinking about going German...

i have always liked porsche. but lately i have had the chance to actually drive a few. and this only made me want one more. but i have never driven the ones in my price range. so im looking to get one. but i would have to sell my 10AE to do it. i do have a 1st gen and another 91 coupe. so, i wouldnt be rx7-less...
but still, it seems a little wrong.
heres what im looking at.
1988-89 944 turbo,(4k-8k$)
1984-89 911 (10-???$) they can get pricey. but 10k isnt bad.
or maybe even some of the nicer early 70's 911's
so has anyone here owned one. really driven one. know a lot about them. im trying to learn about them. but i cant seem to find a good source. or decent forum.

Well, since this is GenD...
I've loved the 911 since I was old enough to think about cars, and all these years, Porsche has been patiently making them, waiting for me to hit the lottery so I can justify buying one. That or the kids get through college and get good jobs and I can still hold my bladder long enough to go for a drive. Then again, there's always Depends....
The 944 could be fun, but if it is within your means to get and care for a 911, you should do it. Only thing is, I don't see many for sale for as little as $10k, but I don't spend a lot of time looking. Good luck!

after looking around. the 944 is a great car. but a TII is cheaper and better.
but a 911. damn...
the 930's, and turbos are $$$. but a nice NA mid 80's 911 can be bought for around 10-15k. and can easily be made to look like a 930/turbo. the parts are a little more. but hey, its a Porsche!

i want a white 996 turbo. if i ever decide or am able to spend over 50k on a car, thats what ill get
NOTHING would ever posses me to spend 50k on a car... EVER, I'd give the 50k to charity before I would spend 50k on a car, but hey that's me and I'm wacky, I have the titles to all of my vehicles in hand I would like to trade Amy's car here soon.

Here's a pic of my good friend driving his dad's GT3RS in Germany on the track.
Also a pic of my dad when we were playing with a 996 turbo. Fast car, but I kept hitting the rev limiter in the lower 2 gears.
