been in quite a slump lately, and to top it off report card showed up, and had a 2.0. (since my dad took the car away i havent done any hw or tried whatsoever, so thats why its so low) and now hes bitching at me for it again. since i have to have a 3.0 to drive, and he took the car away till september, i really dont see the point in trying at school anymore.

Your missing the point with your dad and the car. My parents did the same thing. What you need to do is the opposite of what your doing. If you want to drive or if you want anything in this world its now time to kick some *** and get it. Your dad set an obsticle in front of you. How are you gonna overcome it? Quit? Kick some *** get the grades up live a happy life. Your actually in control here even though you dont think so.



Trust me 10 years from now you'll look back at this and laugh and wish life could be so simple again.

well i stopped caring about school because he took the car, wasnt like i started doign shitty beforehand. but to me its just like ****, im a sophmore in high school, taking the most advanced classes i can be taking, but it doesnt matter to him. and alot of my friends are making fun of mebecause i was driving when i was a freshman, so i was the first to start for a long time, and then once i get it taken away everyone else gets their lisence.

you can do it, you just have to want to do it. Take my advice, starting wanting it sooner, rather than later. My first 2 years of college i was a 2.5 student, didnt really care enough to get good grades. Now, for the 2nd year in a row i am getting a 4.0 (while working full time) and got accepted in the honor society. I am still me, the only thing that changed was my mentality. I really wanted to bust *** and dominate the classes. I really wish i had busted my *** this much when i had far less responsibility than i do now. Things would have been much much easier.

Sophmore year and your giving up? Not too smart.



Suggestion:



Go to the guidence counselor and ask to be placed in some easier classes. I was placed in the hardest classes when I reached my sophmore year. The first day of school I went straight to the guidence dept and had them put me in the middle of the road classes.



We had 4 levels of classes in New York when I was in HS.



Modified - for disturbed and metally challenged

General - easiest classes

Regents - NY state regents board level classes a little more difficult than general but none of the general riff raff disturbing classes.

Honors - Very difficult - What the TRIED to place me in. I squashed that real quick.



I didnt have to try in high school and had a 3.75 avg. If I was in honors I would have had to bust my *** and probably would have gotten a 2.5.



Plus honors was full of people I didnt like.



Dont give up dude. You looking at this all wrong.

Yeah you need to get them grades up to make things easier later down the road. I finished highschool with a 3.0 and barely made it into this flight school with that. I would have gone crazy thinking I couldn't pursue a dream cause I was a slack *** in highschool. After you are done totally with school, you will be facing some real challenges....bills, work, bills, work, and more bills and work.

yea your grandmom doesnt just cut checks, shes right. It never hits you till its too late, which is why so many of us can say all this. Because we didnt listen.

well its not that im just done giving up for good, ill start caring when theres an incentive for me like right now, not if i do good now i get rewarded 4 months afterwards. (reward being getting off punishment) and im sure id probably be looking at this in a similar way as you guys are if everything else didnt suck so much.
