The 320 RWHP Supercharged Miata I drove was scary like that too. When I drove the Mazdaspeed Miata I was impressed how quicky the turbo spooled and quite honestly it was a much better behaved car. The 320 RWHP one was more like trying to control constant oversteer, turns in both could be controlled very easily with the right foot. The Mazdaspeed one was just more civil.
