Well FDs are cheap. Start from around $12,000 NZ dollars.

Property on the other hand is'nt.
The FD price is a real bonus!!!

I will look up land prices tonight. Do you have a link to a local online paper? That would help alot.

Well land prices dont seem to bad

I have 20 acres and it is worth $350,000.00 + or - a little.

seems close to prices on the north island. I dont care if i live out of town a bit.

Next thing would be a job, i work construction. I will do anything but sit behind a desk!! What is the job market like there? what do things pay?

The local Auckland paper is the New Zealand Herald at http://www.nzherald.co.nz/

If your looking at jobs best place to look is http://www.seek.co.nz/

Jobs could pay better, but you always want more. Not sure how things pay in construction or how that industry is for vacancies. I do know the NZ unemployment rate is the lowest it has ever been (3.6%) so there are always jobs available.

Check'em out.

Wow, talk about beautiful! NZ is one of the places I want to visit, along with Egypt. Which I am taking a vacation there when I turn 25. 3 more years!
