Had surgery on toe yesterday - trying to take off the bandage. I've hydroproxide(sp) it, and the only part that won't come off is where it was infected from the ingrown toenail. I've been soaking it for the last 20mins, (10 mins each) taking it out, trying to pull off the bandage, and it just won't budge on the side where the operation was.

Any suggestions? Pain severe, sooo.....

Take off your shirt and bra, turn on webcam, invite us all to a broadcast to look at your breasts while you ****** the bandage from the toe.

In all seriousness, soak it good and keep trying

PS, I speak from painfull exprience with this. One of my toes gets ingrown ~ever 6 months due to be mangled by a fall with a fire extinguisher. Hence the toenail doesn't grow right, even though it has been removed 6 times

ewww.. 6 times? Well....... I finally got the ****** off, I just said "**** it" after soaking it for atleast 30mins... closed my eyes, and slowly pealed.

It still hurts. It sucks. Atleast I got some good meds

Well.. time to do this twice a day (soaking) for two weeks .. gotta go back to him July 2nd. Day before I leave for El Paso.

I didn't expect him to remove *part* of my nail. Blargh.

Ummm.. .because you'll get it infected, again.

It says percisely on the directions sheet.

1. Purchase a tube of Triple Antibiotic Ointment at the over the counter shelf at your drug store.

2. The day after you have your surgery, help loosen and remove bandage with dydrogen peroxide.

3. In a basin with epsom salt and lukewarm water, (approx. 2 tsp. per quart) soak for 10 mins. Use a Q-tip to wipe away any debris.

4. Apply the antibiotic medicine to your toe and cover it with a band-aid after soaking it well.

5. Repeat this process twice daily. It is important to the healing process of your toe.

6. remember to return for your post-op visits.

7. If you have any questions, please contact our office.

So there:P

I hate ingrowns....mine are caused by cutting them too short on the sides, from what I hear. Even my fingernails get ingrown sometimes.

No doubt. I have that problem. I've never, though, had an ingrown fingernail. By the pain I get from my toes, I don't think I want to see how bad it hurts on the fingers - though I do cut my nails too short. It's mostly cause by being nervous, and I can't control the sentation(sp) of biting them? One of my reasons that I got a tounge ring for.

I cut my fingernails really short to keep from getting grease under them.
