QUOTE (1gendreemer @ Jun 21 2004, 07:40 AM)

I'd go STI...it's something a little different. Sure Supras are awesome cars too, but there's getting to be a lot of them on the road. I'm sold on AWD too...there's nothin quite like spinnin all four!

"Getting to be a lot of them on the road"?! LOL, is toyota secretly making more of them?

I meant that you see the "Fast and the Furious" style Supras all over the place....I'm aware of the actual production numbers. Where I live you see Supras all over the place and it's cool, but it's still a bit more exciting to see an STI and I don't see as many of them. It's something different.

Hey what about doing a mixmatch. Swap the Supra motor into the Suby or make the Supra AWD!!!

I thought if you started modifying the engine, exhaust, suspension that it voids your warranty all together? Even if you put on bigger rims?

Or I was just told the wrong thing.

Mark- I wanna see some more Supra's. There is only two around here, TONS of Subarus, but no SRT-4's. And no FD's at least on the road.

I would consider buying another FD, or even an TII.

If I had trouble deciding between a new car and an older one, I'd choose the new one, for the warranty, and you don't have to worry about what the previous owner did, or what they're lying about.
okay then do nothing to it for years b/c you will void the warrenty **** that. and if your basing that on previous problems of buuyying a used car ,im ssure they havent even found out ALL the factory **** ups in the sti yet.

love jason

Makes a good point there. If you buy a Supra it will have some type of problem with it also. Either new tranny, or just needs a new center console, who knows?

If I were going to build a race car only for the track or dragging, I would buy an older used car. Like it if was a honda(ha, very unlikely) I would buy a CRX. Not the new hondas. ***** that. At least with the CRX I can spend the rest of the money I would've used on the newer car to modify do whatever I want to it.

depends dealership to dealership......the dealership that I bought my focus from told me that if i put on the svt focus rims it would void my warranty....but a dealship that carries ford racing parts said that the only thing that would void my warranty is a cold air intake....I could put on the exhaust, rims, suspension and it wouldn't void my warranty

Hmmm, interesting. Dealerships around here are real ********. Somebody I work with wants to lower and put some decent rims on her civic, and it would void her warranty. I would understand if you melted the springs, it would void it. But if you lower the car just a bit, gives it better handling somewhat?

Here's the question no one has asked.

Will he pay for his choice with a monthly payment or lump sum? Because, if he is able to take a chunk of cash from his account, then the Supra. But if he is going to do a monthly thing then the STi or Evo8 MR.

all the people I know that left the rear wheel drive world and gone to awd have returned. If he enjoys rear wheel action then 4wd will become so boring to him.PLUS have you seen the prices for sti parts ?!?!?supra anyday.BAng of rhte buck between the two of them.
