My friend had one and I couldnt even drive it because of that, I could barely ride in the passenger seat. Relocate the seat rails and those are about the coolest thing from that era, just beind the TII

My friend had a blue Conquest and he put dual exhaust exiting just in front of the rear wheels, I think he just had a cherry bomb into a y-pipe. That thing was loud as hell!

Replace the head on it with one from a Caravan. Put the Starion valve train on the Caravan head and do some porting while you have it out. The Caravan has no jet valves, on the Starion head those almost always leak oil.
how do the jet valves cause oil to leak?

my coworker has one and claims they just stick open and cause detonation... and the casting sucks so it tends to crack around teh jet valves, apparently he has bolts where his jet valves were.[/quote]

it that the thing were it mixes the water and oil? man those 2600 motors are junk, my frind has a b2600 and to check the oil you take off the radiator cap

*shrug*

those jet valves are like swirl ports, they just inject air to try promote swirl.

I dont remember what exactly about them, I dont even remember what jet valves do. I think there are jet valve guides or sleeves or something and those are what leak oil. It was my friend that was big into the Starion, I just kept up on the rotary stuff instead

yet again rob is still jealous he doesn't have a TII LMAO! as much as he hates to admit it. HE WANTS A TURBO! LOL
Either I turbo my car or I build another big block Cutlass.

Im tired of my car the way it is, so either it gets **** canned or it gets modded. Even Jim said he is bored with these cars, and I almost agree. There is a intersting article by Peter Egan in Road and Track, in it he tells how he was under his fully restored Porsche 356, admiring how nice everything was, how he had restored every last part of it a few years ago, how nice it was running, not leaking, so he put it in the paper the next day and sold it, because he wanted a different car to work on, and because he dreaded doing some of the work again. Ive had my car for over 7 years, either I do something mechanical with it, or Im selling the fugger!

I am not buying a TII, unless some sweet *** deal comes my way,lol

If I put the time and effort into another restoration, it will be a different car altogether.

well, i'm sick of that one, ive had 2 motors, 2 ecu's, 3 set of wheels, at least 5 exhausts, 2 stereo's, etc etc in the span of 2 years almost exactly, i saved it from the junkyard 1/1/01. ive been over every inch of that stupid thing, and i feel like working on something else. it made it into the sevenstock coverage in the japanese rx7 mag though ss5
