I'm gonna 2nd the toyota motion. You can't go wrong with them.
A camry might not be a beautiful car, but its not bad looking either, and it is sure to get you wherever you need to go with no problems...
I'm partial to trucks for daily drivers though..

as far a daly drivers go I get 35 + mpg and drive at least 100 miles a day with cheap maintance and handles better than alot of cars. Yep buy a bike I love driving my honda 750 everyday plus no traffic no smog and no bs. Just good chep realiable daily transportation.

Kind of hard to do that when you live in states that snow. How about a Volvo Dan?
My folks have a 91 940 Turbo with about 250k on it, and it is still running great. Only things that are wrong is the drivers side seat will not recline back, and the transmission was replaced along with the AC evaporator at 150k. Other than regular maintenace it has been a good vehicle. Does not do to well in the snow due to rear wheel drive. And I have beat on it many a times, and actually beat a 03 Ford Focus ZX2 one time.

I've thought about it. Looked some up. Not bad, considering what I can afford.
I'm just the king of indecisiveness, pickyness, the whole "Elitist *****" thing too...not that I need a supercar to be elite...I drove a rusty MKI Mr2 for pete's sake...
I think I may go back to my earlier intentions: An Automatic Legacy GT and a Supercharged, hardtop'd miata.
I just have to decide if I want to do that or just get a decent Legacy GT and just wait on the sports car fun'ness until I can afford to start building an LS1-FD.

Try this little experiment. Take a can of pop and roll it on a flat surface, it rolls pretty easily and will eventually stop due to friction caused by the air hitting the surface of the can. Keep in mind when you roll it horizontally it still has a little bit of downward motion becuase of the type of movement (you learn this in statics). So gravity affects it a little.
Now take the same can hold it up in the air and drop it the same distance you rolled the can. It will drop much quicker than it does when you roll it, why? Becuase gravity is working actively on it. Even though you put no external force on it gravity still pulled it down faster than the can moved when you tried rolling it horizontally.
Now, I know there are variables such as how fast you roll the can, but you can also do it on a larger scale, you can roll the can as far as you can and drop it from a very high building and it will still drop sooner because gravity emits a force on it called "terminal velocity" which is much more powerful than the coeffecient of cancelleation which happens when a body of mass moves horizontally.
the force you are reffering to is CALLED gravity, terminal velocity would never be reached inside of an engine, terminal velocity is when the drag coefficient equals that of the force of gravity acting on the falling object and thus the object reaches its maximum speed, if it werent for terminal velocity and a drag coefficient then when you dropped something off a building it would keep accelerating at 32ft/s, oh yeah and the can doesnt stop rolling because of the force of the air it stops rolling because of the friction of it on the ground why do you think taht tires wear, you could put a can of soda in an isolated room and it would still have friction on the ground
