[quote name='cymfc3s' date='Apr 21 2005, 12:05 AM']Well, if you wanted to get a 2nd mortgage or a home equity loan, the value of the property is very important as well....

[quote name='j9fd3s' date='Apr 21 2005, 12:51 AM']i like how the guy live next door for 40 YEARS and its only a problem now.

The guy just built the garage.

Can we see pictures of the neighbourhood? I'm picturing million dollar houses here. One acre lots, enough cash to build a 6000 sq ft shop for only 9 cars, etc.

If that's the case, building a big tin box WOULD drive down the property values a little at least.

I agree that pics would help here. I am generally in favor of a landowner's right to do as he pleases. However, the neighbors in a closely developed residential subdivision should not be subjected to the presence of a huge metal building more appropriate in an industrial park.

Except that neighborhoods of that caliber should be protected by HOA's and such. I was careful to check that the neighborhood I live in has NO HOA's, but the City has strict requirements that prevent that sort of activity from commencing.

A lot of houses around here have buildings like that. They're called 'barns" and they're on "farms". Maybe if the redneck trash would move out of the suburbs, things would be fine.

I think part of our property is zoned agricultural; something about I'm not allowed to build a huge garage, but I could raise a barn.
