And even so: You're response was overwhelmingly typical and is the very stereotypical "Brain washed" response to any christian with any remote confidence.

I apologize if my confidence offends you, but I've said nothing thus far, or in this forum, EVER, to warrant name calling or hatred. PM me or visit Orange County, NY if you feel you need to give/take a beating.

Ok let me let me educate you a bit about the Good Muslims. First let me tell you where I am coming from, I am a Hindu. Hindus and Muslims have fought for just as long as Christians have been fighting Muslims. But to prejudge someone based on what you know about their faith is completely wrong. A man is more than what the holy book in his bedside drawer tells him he is, whether it be the Holy Quran or the Holy Bible.

Second let me tell you where he is coming from. This man is the President of India, the world's larget democracy. He is the president of a country whose majority is Hindu. His father was a Muslim priest, and his father's best friend was a Hindu priest.

Here is how he begins his speech:

"I have three visions for India. In 3000 years of our history, people from all over the world have come and invaded us, captured our lands, conquered our minds. From Alexander onwards, The Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French, the Dutch, all of them came and looted us, took over what was ours. Yet we have not done this to any other nation. We have not conquered anyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture, their history and Tried to enforce our way of life on them. Why? Because we respect the freedom of others.

That is why my first vision is that of FREEDOM. I believe that India got its first vision of this in 1857, when we started the war of Independence. It is this freedom that we must protect and nurture and build on. If we are not free, no one will respect us.

My second vision for India's DEVELOPMENT, For fifty years we have been A developing nation. It is time we see ourselves as a developed nation. We are among top 5 nations of the world in terms of GDP. We have 10 percent growth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievements are being globally recognized today. Yet we lack the self-confidence to see ourselves as a developed nation, self-reliant and self-assured. Isn't this incorrect?

I have a THIRD vision. India must stand up to the world. Because I believe that, unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. Only strength respects strength. We must be strong not only as a military power but also as an economic power. Both must go hand-in-hand." - Abdul Kalam

First thing you notice is this guy is a patriot first, and a Muslim second. Second notice he doesn't refer to Allah or Baghwan.

Also, notice how he references Moguls and Turks. The Moguls and Turks were Muslim, but do you hear him reference their faith? No. The British, the Spanish, and the ***** (enemies in our first major wars before Vietnam, Korea, and the Gulf War) were Christians, but we don't talk about that. Why? Because it's irrelevant. The insurgents in Iraq aren't mad because we're White/Brown/Black or Christian/Jewish/Hindu, they're mad because we're strangers who've taken their country from them, and they want it back.

'...since when can sinful men clearly depict a perfect God? We simply can't. We are called to be different, try harder, strive for perfection, in faith and by grace because we simply can't do it alone.' - PhoenixDownVII

Please look at this from someone else's point of view. It's the truest thing anyone's said in this thread and it, not your prejudices, should guide you in your conflicts of interest with Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and whomever else you might encounter.

Wow someone finally shut him up - I'm joking Phoenix, FWIW I actually think you're ok, apart from when you go off on your tangents.

My response was not supposed to help engage me in an intellectual debate over religions. Hence why I dumbed it down for you.

And its obvious you cant see yourself from a 3rd person view, that would be too rough for yourself. Point is, any religious fanatic like yourself will never be taken seriously outside of a church. So stop trying to push any sort of christian beliefs and when you feel the need to bring up anything about religion on this board, think harder, maybe... stretch out for the hand of god, and just close the window.

Let me be the one to tell you I have never felt like a religion was being forced on me in my conversations with Phoenix.

Let me also be the one to tell you that you come off like a pompous *** in 80 percent of your post.

Dont take it as an attack on you personally, I hate everyone.

Thanks.

That's what makes your "Dumbing" response even weaker sidewinder, never did I impose or impress my side of any arguement religion or NOT!

What the problem is, is that soon as someone poses any sort of confidence in ANYthing, there are emotions (whatever you wanna call it) stored in others (like you...) that somehow get offended. I think it runs deeper than what you've outlined, because honestly...I haven't said much at all about my Faith yet, and you've already somehow justified getting pissed at me.

Again, view the following:

Ahh, but see what I mentioned above. All of my "tangents" are responses to what's already being talked about. Be it real estate, debt, politics, etc.

And you can't sit here and tell me I've ever been outright rude about it, or remotely off topic.

It has only (Read slowly: ONLY) been due to 2 factors:

1. My opinion/outlook is different

2. I'm confident in it.

THink about it, every arguement thus far was only because I wasn't the 7th, 8th, or 100th guy chimin' in the same ol "Bush sucks" or "That's gay" or whatnot.

And anyone (like sidewinder?) who can't handle such confidence, or has another POV, can simply respond and debate it. Phins has, even Banzai with a decent way of putting it. But name calling is a waste of time. And telling me I'm forcing any such position just because I defend it with reason is something I disagree with. Seems those who think so have something else they need to get off their chest or figure out.
