yes, it is. If I'm in a restaurant, and I request "coke," they may ask if pepsi is ok. I say, "on second thought, get me a mountain dew."

and I call it a sub, not hero (unless it's "gyro"...I'm part lebanese) or hoagie

 

sub yes but when i was stationed in GA I would ask for a coke and they would say what kind and i would say mt.dew

I've lived in many places and I still call it soda, althought I've heard it called pop(in Nebraska), soda pop (in Indiana), and coke (in Texas). The funny thing is that where I live in Texas every soda is refered to as coke, so when you order you soda the person at the counter usually asks what kind of coke would you like. I think this is the strangest thing I've heard. Usually I respond "I what a coke bitch!!! If I wanted something different I would've ******* asked for it!!!"
