Heh. It's obvious you read the page.
have YOU read the page? or perhaps the manuals for the car? read the manuals for process of bleeding air form coolant system. one says the ast does it, the other says "remove rad cap"
you decide which says which.

I don't know what these other people were thinking, especially Mazda.
Otherwise all cars would have this..

it filters "tiny bubbles"........oh god quick lemme get that my temps would drop a bajillion degrees.
quick someone tell ferrari, since they dont even have AST's and their v12's seem to cool fine.

I read it but I don't understand the source of the miniscule bubbles.. That's a major issue for any vehicle.. There is a flaw in design somewhere if the coolant is getting bubbles on a sealed system no?

I think some of the reasoning behind its purpose is still up for debate. When I saw Pettit a while back they had eliminated the AST tank on their race car but the radiator was upright.

A radiator that is slanted forward at a fairly severe angle.
A radiator that is slanted forward at a fairly severe angle will not cause bubbles.
