Question

My friend recently got an S14 with an RB26DET. I heard it was fast, blah blah, yeah whatever.

So tonight I got a turn to ride in his new baby. First of all let me say this thing is NICE. Super clean, super clean engine bay, even kept the A/C and P/S working, a super clean, almost factory-looking swap. Runs nice and smooth, idles nice. Nice red metallic paint, WORK wheels, sweet (clean) interior, the whole shebangabang. He has roughly $20k invested in this car.

Dyno'd at 680WHP, on race gas, but he has it detuned to run pump gas. So that got me interested in seeing just how this baby moves.

Now mind you I come from a muscle car family. My father almost disowned me when I bought the RX7. I convinced him that it's carb'd and uses a distributor and has no ECU, so he let it slide, but I definately got some dirty looks. So I've ridden in quite a few fast cars, even owned a few quick cars myself.

But nothing of this caliber.

We were going to get something to eat, and took his car. We got up to about 20 and he gunned it. Lag, lag WHAM it took off like a ******* bat outta hell. Next thing I know, we're doing 70 in 2nd gear, and he lets out of it. It was like a ******* video game. Everything went blurry when he hit boost... it was like some back-to-the-future ****.

Now I really can't wait to build and boost the 7.

It always feels faster when you're riding in the passenger's chair. Next time get him to let you drive it.

He never would. Ever. Probably not even if I bought it. He is super paranoid something is going to happen to it, understandably.

i have no idea whats the fastest i have been in. but my brothers civic is about 600WHP. his speedo will say 70 in 2nd but were not really going anywhere...lol (FWD...what a waste)

my 10ae has 409WHP, it will spin most of first and fish tail through second...havnt made it to third yet pushing all the way through. needs tires...3rd gear pull feels nice.

but i just recently started doing valet at a big money hotel...havnt really got to push the good ones yet. but the 6.3 AMG mercedes has inflating seats to keep you in while cornering...lol ask me how i know

I cant ride in the passenger seat of a car even crusing i get headaches and i want to puke...a 600hp car would devastate my innards so I'd have to be behind the wheel!!
