how does this work if I have her laptop networked to my PC now?
can they still share files if I have a mac? what about the printer and the router?
all that runs through my pc right now.

I'm not 100% sure how you are set up, i can't remember, i know u have a router cause I was there when you bought it. I'm guessing you have the printer plugged in to your pc and are sharing that over the network? If so it could still be done with the mac, if nothing else you could share it through parallels, but you can also share it via osx too. Router settings wouldnt change
OK, this is how i run, i run it in coherance mode, i use windows media player for all my music, it's installed on the windows partition, i am listening to it right now while typing in safari on osx. furthermore, let's say i download a windows .exe file, i click the windows start button and open it, it installs in the windows os as if there is no difference between the two. its very cool
Let's put it this way, if you don't run high graphic games parallels is the way to go, u can run windows apps and mac apps side by side flaswlessly. If you plan to play windows games (high graphics ones) i would suggest installing your windows with bootcamp, then using the bootcamp install as vm partition. The difference is, when you want to play a game, you will need to reboot into the windows install, i didnt bother with teh bootcamp install as i play my games on the wii and on my sexbox 360 it truly is the best of all possible worlds LOL

Here's a screen cap, i am browsing the same folder one in osx and one in windows. btw the music folders are shared between win and os x profiles, ie i drop a file in "My Music" folder its the music folder on both installs.

your screen caps look like a PC would still do you fine.
LOL, I dunno what the screen caps have to do with Pc vs Mac, I just threw those up for an example of the seemlessness between the two OS's I wasn't really running apps that regularly run.
A PC will suit many people "just fine", but I was going for "enjoyable" "useful", things like that
would those geeks in the apple store be able to set my **** up to share files and printer with the PC in my house?
I don't know to be honest, they probably could, but i have never spoken with them so I dunno how qualified they are.
